Ministry of SMEs with SMBC Indonesia Encourage Inclusive Financing Access for SMEs Through E-Hub Financial 2025
Jakarta, 28 May 2025 – PT Bank SMBC Indonesia Tbk (SMBC Indonesia) is committed to drive sustainable economic growth. This commitment is reaffirmed through active involvement in the Entrepreneur Hub Financial 2025 program, a collaborative initiative with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the Republic of Indonesia and Agung Podomoro University to expand access to entrepreneurial financing in Indonesia.
In this program, SMBC Indonesia not only acts as a financing provider, but also becomes a strategic partner in compiling training modules, providing financial supplies, and conducting comprehensive business feasibility assessments. This initiative is in line with SMBC Indonesia's focus on developing the MSME sector as the backbone of the national economy.
Siti Azizah, Deputy for Entrepreneurship, Ministry of SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia expressed in his welcoming speech, "Entrepreneur Hub Finance Jakarta Raya 2025 is not just a meeting room. This is a collaboration platform. A place where MSMEs can directly connect with financing institutions, Strengthened by mentoring from coaches, experienced mentors and academic support from campuses and Raised by an active and impactful community"
Purnomo B. Soetadi, Head of Retail Lending Business SMBC Indonesia said, "As a form of SMBC Indonesia's commitment to support the national strategic agenda related to increasing the entrepreneurial ratio, we understand that MSMEs are one of the important pillars for the Indonesian economy. Therefore, synergy and good collaboration are needed from all parties in the entrepreneurial ecosystem; as the Ministry of MSMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, SMBC Indonesia, and Agung Podomoro University have launched today."
Bacellius Ruru, Rector of Agung Podomoro University said, "As an educational institution based on entrepreneurship, Universitas Agung Podomoro has established a strategic partnership with the Ministry of SMEs in an effort to accelerate the growth of the entrepreneurial ratio in Indonesia. Universitas Agung Podomoro confirms its position as the Home of CEOs and Leaders in Indonesia through its commitment to producing visionary leaders and strong entrepreneurs who are able to provide real impacts for the progress of the nation."
Through Entrepreneur Hub Financial 2025, a number of curated entrepreneurs from the Jabodetabek area will be provided with financial literacy training, business plan preparation, and intensive mentoring by a team from SMBC Indonesia and Agung Podomoro University. The purpose of this activity is to produce bankable entrepreneurs who have sustainable business prospects. This process is expected to be an effective bridge between the small business world and financial institutions.
"We greatly appreciate the active role of SMBC Indonesia in this program, which reflects a collaborative approach by the banking sector in facing the challenges of financing MSMEs which have so far been hampered by minimal financial literacy, unpreparedness of required documents, and limited understanding of alternative financing schemes," he added. Siti Azizah, Deputy for Entrepreneurship, Ministry of SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia
This program is expected to be a model of sustainable synergy between stakeholders such as the government, business world, financial institutions, and academics, in order to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem as a whole. This program is also one of the proofs that financial institutions such as SMBC Indonesia do not only take on the role of funders, but also play an active role as empowering partners for Indonesian entrepreneurs.
"The series of programs that we are starting today aim to increase the entrepreneurial capacity of MSME actors, so that later they can help them to facilitate access to financing for the development of their businesses. We hope that the efforts we make together with these MSMEs can later help spur more inclusive economic growth in Indonesia," concluded Purnomo.
