What is Government Bonds?

Bonds are a Capital Market Debt Instrument that contains an agreement (contract) between the borrower (Debtor) and the lender (Creditor), where the borrower is willing to make periodic payments that have been mutually agreed upon and will return the principal loan according to the mutually agreed time limit.

Meanwhile, government bonds are debt instruments issued by the government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Benefits

Provides a relatively higher return compared to the average bank deposit product.
Provides the opportunity to profit (tradable product) if sold on the secondary market at a higher price.
Government bonds are liquid products because the selling bank is required to be a standby buyer, allowing investors to transact (buy/sell) every trading day.
Government bonds are relatively safe because the principal is guaranteed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia if held until maturity.

Types of Government Bonds are as follows:

Tradable IDR : FR, ORI, SR, and PBS

Tradable USD : INDON and INDOIS

Non-Tradable IDR : SBR & ST
