Jenius Celebrates Its Seventh Anniversary with #jadilebihjenius

  • Evolving into a comprehensive life finance solution with various innovative features to assist digital-savvy individuals in managing their finances simpler, smarter, and safer.

  • Ongoing growth in the numbers of users, funding balance, and credit disbursements over the seven-year journey.

Jakarta, August 22, 2023 – Jenius from PT Bank BTPN Tbk remains committed to delivering comprehensive and relevant financial services to digital-savvy communities through co-creation and collaboration, marking its seventh anniversary on August 11, 2023.

"Jenius expresses its gratitude for the trust and support given by digital-savvy communities. We continue to grow alongside digital-savvy communities on this meaningful seven-year journey," stated Irwan Tisnabudi, Digital Banking Head of Bank BTPN.

Jenius features born through the co-creation process have become more comprehensive in aiding Jenius users, encompassing savings, transactions both domestically and internationally, cash flow management, and simplified investment directly through the application, said Irwan.

"Furthermore, from a business perspective, Jenius continues to expand and reach out to more segments, from retail to corporate," he added.

Jenius booked robust growth trends as of the end of June 2023, including a 19% year-on-year increase in registered users to 4.8 million. Jenius funding balance (DPK) increased by 43% year-on-year to Rp24.7 trillion and the total loan portfolio reached Rp1.3 trillion, up by 119% year-on-year.

On its seventh anniversary, Jenius continues to innovate through co-creation with digital-savvy communities.

Jenius launched and developed a series of features throughout the first half of 2023, to meet the evolving needs of digital-savvy communities. These features include easier QRIS scan via the Jenius app, e-money top-up and management through the e-Wallet Center, Yay Points redemption, extended operational hours for activation and foreign currency exchange at Jenius, Jenius Paylater, and the #FlexiRasaMaxi 2 program.

The above feature innovations are the outcome of co-creation and collaboration processes that Jenius has fostered since its inception. About 44,000 co-creators (members of the Jenius Co.Create community) have joined Jenius Co.Create to provide input and insights for the development of life finance solutions. Co-creation processes have also involved over 1,024 online surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), in-depth interviews involving over 116,212 digitally-savvy community members as respondents, averaging 17 interview sessions conducted each month.

During this seventh anniversary celebration, Jenius conducted a survey titled "Jenius Study: Digital Savvy Financial Habits 2023" and introduced the 7 hari 7 malam #jadilebihjenius program, offering various special offers for Jenius users.

Over the past seven years, Jenius has grown with its users, assisting them in achieving better financial habits and lifestyles, from savings and cash flow management to transactions. This reflects in the "Jenius Study: Digital Savvy Financial Habits 2023" survey conducted in August 2023, involving 156 respondents aged 17 to 41.

According to the survey, 96% of Jenius users regularly save, an increase from 70% the previous year. Among these savers, 73% allocate more than the recommended amount (10%-20% of income) as suggested by financial planners.

Users find it easier and help them be more disciplined in saving for their needs and dreams by using Jenius features such as Save It (Flexi Saver, Dream Saver, & Maxi Saver).

Similarly, the survey highlights that 83% of users recognize the importance of tracking cash flow, up from 73% in the previous year.

One of the ways Jenius assists users in managing cash flow is through installment payments (93%). In 2023, 55% of users utilized Flexi Cash to manage cash flow, including for business capital, home renovation, purchases of desired items, and more.

Users can efficiently manage cash flow with Jenius features like Moneytory, Flexi Cash, Paylater, Jenius Visa Credit Card, Split Pay, and Cicilan Jenius Pay.

Jenius' app features also simplify transactions for users both domestically and internationally. The "Jenius Study" also revealed that the Jenius Visa Debit Card (m-Card) has accompanied and facilitated users in transactions across 188 countries on various continents, including Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, North America, and South America.

As an expression of gratitude towards its users, Jenius introduced the 7 hari 7 malam #jadilebihjenius program, offering various special offers during its seventh-anniversary celebration.

These special offers ran for a full 7 days, from August 11 to 17, and included 7 special offers at selected food & beverages merchants, 7 special offers from chosen merchants, and 7 special offers from Jenius' selected features.

Users enthusiastically embraced the #jadilebihjenius program, resulting in increased transactions during the promotional period. Building on this success, Jenius will reintroduce the 7 hari 7 malam #jadilebihjenius program with a variety of special offers in September.

"The support from our users over these seven years has driven growth and serves as motivation for Jenius to provide even more comprehensive and integrated financial solutions within the digital ecosystem. We are excitedly welcoming the years ahead and look forward to continuing to grow together with our users, providing better lives and financial well-being," concluded Irwan.
